The evening will showcase spectacular views of the capitol city, it's river landscape, and bustling downtown alongside the culinary talents of a Little Rock institution, K. Hall & Sons: Devin, David Jr. & Daron Hall.

This dinner will be shaped around elevated soul food served in an elevated setting atop Simmons Tower, the tallest building in Arkansas! Expect a meal that is lively and complex, blending deeply layered seasoning in dishes that taste both nostalgic and familiar. For the brothers Devin, David Jr. & Daron, elevated soul food is taking those traditional, comforting flavors and presenting them in a fresh, refined way while still keeping the heart and soul of the food intact.

Featured Chef: The Halls have been operating their family business K. Hall & Sons in Little Rock since Knoxie Hall rented the former gas station in 1973 to sell produce grown on the family farm located in Wrightsville, Arkansas. Knoxie's youngest son, David Hall Sr. has been there since the beginning working for his parents. In the 1990's, Hall Sr. made two changes: cooking with his sons Devin, David Jr. and Daron, and delivering the produce to restaurants and schools.

Along with having full time jobs, in 2018 the brothers started their own business, HallBros2Go, a food truck outside the grocery store, where they host "Soul Food Sunday." Through HallBros2Go, the brothers are also bring the flavors and spirit of their family kitchen to the community. Serving Southern comfort food rooted in generations of cooking, hard work, and family, their food reflects the Halls' belief that good food is about more than a meal, it’s about bringing people together. What started as a Sunday tradition at K Hall & Sons is growing into its own legacy.

Born out of a desire to build a community around great food, Apple Seeds Kitchen Table Dinner series is designed to recreate the feeling of gathering around a dear friend's table. These dinners aim to bridge the gap often felt between the chef and diners in a typical dining environment, thereby creating a deeper connection to the food on the plate. Through intentional procurement of local, seasonal ingredients, the transparent preparation of the meal, and storytelling by the chef, each plate is transformed from food into an unforgettable dining experience.
